Recreating the root beer taste.
Recreating the root beer taste.
One thing I really miss from the past is a good iced mug of frothy root beer. Damn good.
Now I'm thinking, maybe if we do enough tweaking we can recreate something like a root beer flavored jello or something that doesn't require a whole bunch of artifical sweeteners or anything.
Anyone have any ideas? I don't even know where to start.
What exactly is root beer? Is it ever called anything else? What is the flavour?
You can always have Diet Root Beer right?
I'm glad you asked:

According to this wiki it seems to be a large mix of spices. I never would have guessed.

You can always have Diet Root Beer right? yea... thats what I do......
How about using Eileen's Keto Ice Cream in a nice mug of A&W Diet Root Beer for a Keto Root Beer Float?
That kit is cool but it's not Keto friendly.
Yeah, I know. Since root beer is a large mixture of spices, I guess it would be a waste of time to try to recreate.
It would have been nice to have something non-carbonated, and that you could add to things though.
They used to sell RootBeer flavoring like you can buy vanilla extract. I wonder if you could put of the flavoring in cream and add carbonated water?
I haven't seen(or looked for) the flavoring in at least 20 years but it might still be available.
natural faux rootbeer
We sell a rootbeer flavored stevia product at my job that's no carbs. You put it into sparkling water. I use the grape one all of the time to try and trick myself into pretending I'm drinking Absolut currant and tonic. That way you avoid the artificial stuff but still get the similation that's keto friendly. This link should take you to the product page with all of the flavors. I also use them in my protein shakes a lot.

Mmmm. Nothing like a root beer float. I might have to try that^
I bought some of this today and am drinking it now (the diet root beer):

Not bad, not bad at all.
