I cannot lose FAT!!!!
I cannot lose FAT!!!!
The title says it all 8 month PLATEAU!!!!
Im not going to say iv tried it all because i havent. But iv tried alot ( 10+ things) over the past 8 months since XMAS. I look the exact same im 182 pounds 14-15% body fat. Im just going to list all of the things iv done.
1000 calorie diet, carb cycling, high fat diet, high carb diet, 40/40/20, 60/30/10, just eating when im hungry, high protein and fat diet,HIIT every other day for 10 min.Theres more that i cant think of... Iv tried ALL these for at least 2 weeks....ALL failed and had zero results....i mean i didnt see change in mirror or scale. This is so ****ing frustrating. iv even read all of burn the fat feed the muscle by tom venuto. Iv used alot of his tips and nothing.
I have no clue what to do. I dont want to give up and im not ready to but i just dont know where to go...or what to do now.
the only thing i can think of is put on more muscle to increase your metabolism and then cut.
the 1000 cal diet was a really bad idea - that might have screwed your metabolism up for a couple of months. you probably lost muscle mass also, which lowered your metabolism.
also eating just when you are hungry is probably bad also - for some people that will lead to under eating, for others over eating.
if you had a pic it would help folks give you some ideas. without knowing your body type its hard to give advice.
My question is what are you eating? There must be something wrong with your diet. If something was wrong with your diet you could have messed up other things. I say just go back on a 40/40/20 and eat very very clean. Veggies, fruits, 100% whole weat (or ezekiel, 100% stone ground wheat bread, pumpernickel, oat bran bread, oatmeal, etc), and lean cuts of protein (turkey, chicken, extra lean ground beef, ostrich, fish, shrimp, shellfish, etc). Consume around 2300 calories and you should be fine. Have a nice cheat meal once a week and I bet you'll be fine. If you don't lose anything on the 40/40/20, you may be carb sensitive or maybe your carb sensitivity has been shot.

Man thats the thing I NEVER CHEAT....never. i eat clean of course . heres most all the foods that i eat.
tuna,turkey breast,oats,carrots,whey shakes,milk,eggs,bananas,whole grain bread.
whatever the diet is. this is where i get my cals....and when i DO eat out, i order salmon...so am i a alien and cannot lose fat?
also idk if this helps? but about 2 years ago i was skinny 135 pounds... i completely dirty bulked to get to 190 17% body fat. I ate basically every 3 hours whatever i wanted and got to 14% BUT...no more since XMAs.
i would reset. eat at maintenence or clean bulk for a few weeks.
Do you drink enough water? I realize this might be a silly question but have to ask. When it comes to fat loss, the problem is almost always in the diet.
Try 30 min hiit EVERY DAY, 30/40 min a week is not nearly enough. ROFL
Try 30 min hiit EVERY DAY, 30/40 min a week is not nearly enough. ROFL Whoa... maybe 30 mins of regular MORNING cardio EVERY DAY. DO NOT do HIIT for that long. Your body will start pulling on protein stores.
The title says it all 8 month PLATEAU!!!!

I have no clue what to do. I dont want to give up and im not ready to but i just dont know where to go...or what to do now. I think it might be that you're doing the stuff for only 2 weeks. I've been stuck there too man. I think if you pick something out that just works for you, as in scheduling, and lifestyle, but detail it for your schedule you may be able to break that plateau. Remember that muscle growth also helps your metabolism. What type of cardio and workout are you doing?
carb refeeds?

I think if you pick something out that just works for you, as in scheduling, and lifestyle, but detail it for your schedule you may be able to break that plateau. Remember that muscle growth also helps your metabolism. What type of cardio and workout are you doing? Well for the weights i just do what exercises that i want for each muscle...as long as i feel i worked them good. Cardio iv tried tons of different variations...im assuming its my diet thats the problem not cardio.
I think its actually a balance between all three. Diet, cardio and training. Im not a trainer or nothing but im not trying to neg on you, but if you have more consitency on all three it may help. Check out the transformation of the week
Im going to try a diet thats made by ME! im going to do what i think i need to do to shock my body...for example eat 70-80% carbs one day then 10-15% carbs the next. iv always wanted to try it...so might as well give it a shot.
also 2100 is about what i would need to eat for fat loss right?
yea i think you need a better structure for your diet and workouts.
use FITDAY.COM to count cals and get a workout routine like RIPPETOES S.S.
You won't lose fat on a 1000 calorie diet. You will lose muscle however.
Increase calories to your BMR which should be about 2200-2500 and do slower paced cardio
I have never been a fan of HIIT because people say it helps burns fat, but from this and my own experience is that the opposite is true
Burning total calories is not the solution if you are 6'0 180 and 15%. You need to target fat

bro, you said you never cheat, and on a 1000 cal diet?!?!?!
thats why. youve been on this diet forever and your metabs ****ed, and your body has plateued cause its used to your diet.
every week from now i havea cheat meal. once every week.
this will help reset your metabolism and what not.
see if this will work
Add more healthy fats.
If you cannot lose fat it's because your body truly thinks it needs to save it. Have your cortisol levels checked. Add 3-6mg EFA's / Fish oil / Flax seed oils into your diet daily.
Exercise more but do HIIT cardio instead either on it's own day or after each workout for 20 minutes.
Have fun and lose fat,
Neoborn
try this,
1800 calorie diet, eat carbs protein whatever, low fat as well. just make sure your in the 1800 area. try not to eat before bed either

maybe you have too much cortisol in your body from stressing over things all the time. You can always go under the knife but thats ......well that

OP, you need to get your caloric needs assessed properly, then diet under it and perform HIIT cardio coupled with low intensity cardio through the week, and keep with it for a good while before assessing if you have lost fat or not.
What is your current bodyfat%? Do you have pics?

horrible troll. look at the guys rep! just because he's in the read doesn't mean he doesn't deserve a mature response. Please keep these comments out of this section.
OP, I believe eating 1000 calories has put you in starvation mode and your body has adapted to such few calories. You now need to rev up your metabolism and re adjust your diet and eat at maintenance as others have stated, this will make your body think it's getting all those calories again and will re adjust your metabolism. then go below just a little for a few days which should make you lose some weight as your body was used to the higher amount... then again, up the calories for a few days and continue this cycle. It will keep your body guessing and rev up your metabolism which will make you lose the weight.
I hope that helped some.

Yeah the past 2-3 weeks Iv been eating 2100 so its not 1000 anymore...
I would say that 2100 is too low for your weight too. Start with atleast 2500-2600 for a week or two and then start dropping the cals slowly.
BINGO , sorta
He should increase calories to 2500 and keep them there. Calories are not the issue here , the starvation was. So after the caloric increase , you should target fat as fuel. To do this I would STOP HIIT and do cardio in the fat burning zone. HIIT will burn more calories, but the percentages will increase on carb utilization ie gluconeogenesis which can convert muscle into energy. Anyway continue to do cardio and see if you can do cardio without much strength loss
Having said this you should definitly continue resistance training, possibly skipping cardio for resistance training in replacement. Breathing Squats, and circuit training may do the trick in burning fat for you in conjunction with the CEE stacks that have fat burners in them such as white flood.

Bulk up to 195 and then cut again and see what happens. Chances are your metabolism has gone done considerably and needs be recharged. Plus gaining muslce will increase your calorie burning by 50 for every pound of muscle you build.
Agreed , some dhea with pregnenolone supps may reduce his adrenal glads from secreting so much cortisol
But stopping the cardio in starvation will be the best bet
