Just the basic order of operations, evaluate.
(-3 -2) / 5 + 5 =
So the brackets come first.. -3 and -2 make -5.
-5 / 5 = -1.
-1 + 5 = 4
4
Is this right?
Short answer, yes . . .
That's right!
TWO CATS SAT

AND HELD HANDS
Remember that. It'll help you when you get to trig.
Bodmas baby. Brackets Order Division Multiplication Addition Subtraction
I've got another one here:
Simplify each of the following ratios:
C) 3.5: 4 <- How am I supposed to break this down? It doesn't go evenly.
D) $2:$8 <- I could do 25 cents to a dollar, is that down far enough?
Seriously.... forget school!
Do you think TIM SHARKY cared if he could do ratios??

C-1:1.14
D-$1:$4

C-1:1.14
D-$1:$4 Thanks man, reps for you sir.
Could you tell me if these others are right?
A) 5:15 = 1:3
B) 18:12 = 3:2
E) $4.20:$0.60 = $1.05:$0.15
F) 120g:2400g = 15g:300g
Thanks in advance ;)
i think they are normally expressed in units dude so no decimal places.
5:15 = 1:3
18:12 = 3:2
4.20:0.60 = 7:1
120:2400 = 1:20
and you mentioned another one, 3.5:4 , i think thats 7:8
simplify them the same way you'd do fractions.
wtf. why is there a second grader on the misc?!
