Can any comp experts tell me what it is lacking or behind in? From my very basic knowledge it seems like well above average speed computer:
-Athlon 64 X2 (B) 5000+ 2.6 GHz processor
-3gb memory
-7200 rpm hd
I'm not sure about everything else though..
are you going to use it for gaming?
limited gaming
most of the time I running at least 3-4 different programs and have a least half a dozen firefox pages open
I'm sure it can handle that
im sure it can, i have a amd athlon x2 4000
2 gig memory
and its probably not the best cause mine is slow, but when it comes to gaming, a good graphic card is a must, most onboard graphic cards are trash, so if your planning to do some serious gaming i suggest you upgrade your graphic card when you get your computer. and your computer is a great deal
build it yourself... shit ill build it for you... im bored
build it yourself... shit ill build it for you... im bored i doubt you'll save that much money building it yourself
build it yourself... shit ill build it for you... im bored if you can build that computer better for $600 ....teach me
if you can build that computer better for $600 ....teach me the only upside to building your own computer is you can customize it just how you like it. I want to build my own computer one day, but just don't got the skills
....but just don't got the skills x2
that computer can be built for 500-600. with quality parts, who knows what your getting with HP. Lately though, the big companies have been selling their PC's for quite cheap...
buuump
I have an HP desktop and I'm quite happy with it.
That said, here's one that's virtually identical except it comes with a 19" monitor, printer, cable and surge protector for $730:

Link to product (not spam, just a huge link) daaamn... oh well, I just ordered the one from frys 5 minutes ago
came out to $729 and I'll get a $50 mail in rebate but I'm happy
I'll let you guys know how it goes..
update, got the desktop, nothing I can complain about
vista is a little different for sure, but I just put a bunch of settings in stream-line mode and it's faster than my old xp
Oh yea I forgot.... it didn't work at first so I was on the phone with HP (talked to 3 different people, 2 guys from India) for about 3 hours the first night. The damn thing wouldn't load up because of something wrong with either the video graphics driver or screen resolution or both I guess.
runs perfect now
Looks good.
Right now I have a 2 Ghz. processor and 2 GB of ram and even that is decent as is in terms of multitasking and light-medium gaming.
