Whey protien VS Whey protien.
Whey protien VS Whey protien.
Ok, so i would have posted this in the supplements forum under best overall protien but all those guys talk about is taste taste taste... ya well taste dont matter to me anymore.. food is fuel thats the only way i look at it. Anyway i just want to know if there is really any diffrence in quailty in the whey i use.. everyone these days is BSN for the win and blackstarr and all there other big names, with big prices. i dont have a thick wallet so i have to choose wiseley. I have always used ON and now im using dymatize. Everyone is saying how great BSN and other big name products are, well ofcourse it is a great product with a great price tag to boot.. but its a blend of eveyrthing.. whey caisen tons or aminos and whatever else those guys are putting in. so your paying for it. All im asking is the whey that i use (found in good old ON) which is just whey.. is it any different than the whey BSN puts in there blends?? Kinda know what im saying? is there product that much more quality and what they use, or just cause its a blend of everything??
im 100% with you, first comes ingredients, filtration process, results, etc.
bsn does not make just a whey, and they whey they use in their blends is whey concentrate (80%)
ON is a good choice for the price and has aminogen which i like, its isolate first, but still has concentrate.
One cost effective whey isolate that i found is vpx zerocarb around 40bucks for 2 pounds, its 100%isolate and its microfiltered which is the preferred process of making a whey isolate.
I have read so many of these I don't even know what the best is anymore. I have been using ON chocolate, it mixes well and tases good. I know there are more expensive mixes out there. Have you had better more noticeable results on the "premium" blends or is it all more hype?

but always take a something with isolate over concentrate
I always make sure that there is a good amount of Whey isolate in the ingredients list by making sure it's first on the ingredients list (Hard to tell, but the FDA regulators (?) say that you have to list your ingredients in the order of most present) or in the "special" protein blend that they come up with. Little bit more pricey compared to Whey concentrate....

Whey all comes from the same place, it's just more "pure whey" in a sense. Basically they just use a finner filtering process to separate the whey from the fats and lactose more.
So, unless you're pre contest and trying to get every calorie for what its meant for (ie. 90caloires in your whey shakes) then I wouldn't pay any attention to all the hype.
I personally buy EAS whey from Sam's club, which has the same/if not better amino acid profile to ON's whey, and it much cheaper. ;)

Little bit more pricey compared to Whey concentrate.... Some companies find a way around the FDA regulation, by combining a few lesser ingredients into a "blend" to make them appear high on the list. Thus, making a product look like WPI is a more abundant ingredient then something that actually is in fact more abundant.
