depends also if the patio is going to encompass your pool/hot tub. i think our deck cost around 30k

yeah but in my definition a patio is a small structure, stone/concrete floor, covered-attached to the house-big enough to house a table and some chairs, a grill. A deck is a much larger thing, much more lumber, labor etc. Yeah. I have a tiny ass patio right now and am going to eventually get a deck put on. But I am looking for less than 10k for sure. Preferably 5k or so. I know people in the business so I may be estimating family and friends pricing I've heard from them.

Assuming you are talking about pavers, it will probably run you $5-$7 a sq. ft. I'm the in process of getting quotes for a patio at my house and that's about what it runs.
