Clean Bulk vs. Cutting
Clean Bulk vs. Cutting
I'm starting another bulk this month (until January).
I did a bulk from Feb to May, but gained 12lbs of fat for my 3lbs of muscle... um, not good.
I'm gonna try it again, but keep it WAY cleaner. I've been 'cutting' for the last 2.5yrs, so I got that down, no prob, but I gotta get a hold of bulking.
Last time, I just ate everything in sight and "ok'd" it by saying "i'm bulking".
Right now, I'm just eating the same foods as in my cut, but more of it. I'm aiming for 3700cal/day.
It's a lot of oats, almons, raisins, turkey, veggies, chicken breast, WW pasta
That's pretty much it.
I'm buying QuickMass by AllMax again, and just going to replace my second meal and post-WO shake with that...
any better foods for bulking, specifically? I eat meat/protein pretty much every 2hrs from dawn to dusk.

I find it hard to believe you (OP) gained 12lb of fat and only 3lb of muscle unless that was in a very short space of time.
I guess for a total 15lb gain, try to achieve that over 4-6 months.
2.5yrs of cutting = 130lbs of fatloss, asshat.
As for the gain, it was only 4mths of bulking... Summer came fast and i did another 6wks of cutting for summertime.
My body's pretty hesitant when it comes to losing weight :p
I'm Lactose intollerant, but I think I'll just invest in some lactaid pills for the sake of bulking. I like oats and granola cereal... opinions on granola cereal? (cuz yes, I'm a hippy)

I love kashi granola-y cereal, their stuff is tasty :) Also if you have a Trader Joe's in the area, a lot of their cereals are natural too.

Aye.
I'm actually debating on going in for lipo to remove fat cells. I'm yet to manage to get under 13% with some pretty severe cutting and cardio.
I'm going to keep trying for another year or 2, but my understanding about fat cells is that once your body creates them, there is no destroying them via 'natural' means.
I think I'm gonna go buy some Kashi cereal today and some lactaid pills and milk. I love cereal, and I can always mix it up with oats 'n stuff in the later portion of the day. :D

I too, lost 100lbs (see profile). I however, lost mine in four months through utter starvation, and lost all the muscle I had under that fat :(
