Hot Peppers and Fat Loss?

Hot Peppers and Fat Loss?
I've always eaten a lot of spicy foods. Recently a friend gave me a TON of fresh habaneros and jalape?os. I've been using them in pretty much every meal... needless to say I sometimes dash to the bathroom haha.
Anyways, I've noticed that since I started eating these peppers a few weeks ago I've lost some bodyfat. My abs are definetly more defined, and it seems I'm more vascular.
Are peppers a really good natural fat-burner? Is the burning sensation you feel after eating them actually burning off extra calories?

Answer:

I wouldn't know but peppers aren't 'hot' for everyone.
The molecule responsible for the 'hot' taste binds to a receptor on your tongue that usually reports acidic and salty things. (A vanilline 1 receptor I think) Because of the enormous response on that receptor you feel it's hot and your body whips up a kind of inflammatory response i.e. swelling, red, hot feeling.
There are some people who lack this receptor and they seem to be immune to peppers and even pepper spray and such.
Think of it like menthol, same thing: it's not cold, it just feels that way and it can give you goose bumps as well.
It's very well possible that an immense stimulation of your intestinal track compromises some of the absorption of other nutrients. So maybe that could be it?

Answer:

People believe capsicum can have a thermogenic like response, (which is in peppers) and actually raise your metabolism for a couple hours.
