No Energy... No Appetite...

No Energy... No Appetite...
Hey everyone,
I don't know why, but it seems that I have no energy these days. I don't feel like doing anything but sitting on my ass. I work out 5 times a week, but other than that I have no physical activity.
Food is always on my mind (when am I going to eat again), but i worry that I should watch my meals due to how much I am working out.
tonight I have no appetite and only feel like eating some cottage cheese and ground turkey...
Is a change in my diet making me tired?

Is a change in my diet making me tired? i had the same exact problem with always thinking about food and having NO energy. My problem was that I was over training while being on a low carb diet. I even incorporated a refeed a day but it wasn't enough. I would recommend taking a week off and eat at maintenance. Up your carbs (complex carbs) 50-100% to raise leptin levels and get your metabolism back in order. Try incorporating a refeed day once a week (it works if you don't overtrain like i did lol) which will help keep energy levels up. I would also look into carb cycling where you have a high carb day 2 times a week which will also keep your metabolism elevated and energy levels up.

yo drumtech,
Ive read alot of your posts and i know u struggle mentaly with food. Well about 5 months ago, I had what you had only a much more sever case. I did insane cardio everyday (sometimes up to 3x per day), lifted 3x per week and didnt eat nearly enough. I thought I was eating alot but i wasent getting near the amount of cals i needed. I lost 5 months of my life. I didnt have the energy to walk! but i still forced myself through brutal workouts. taking off a week wont do much, you have to change your habbits. I know it seems like alot at first but u must eat more everyday! u need more food thats y u dont have energy. some of my super ripped friends who are 99% muscle (exageration, but are more ripped than ill b) they eat shit food all day. but the excess cals go to muscle cuz they workout. U need to get over ur fear of food and eat more. If this seems to hard try foods higer in cals so it doesnt seem like your eating as much. (PB and banana sandwiches FTW)
best of luck man ull push through this

tonight I had a 1/2lb ground turk... big head of broccoli... summer squash... and cottage cheese... Hey bro, did you ever make it to that nutritionist? Or did you try to stick it out on your own? Either way, it sounds like you are definitely not eating enough (judging from your numerous posts in the past regarding apathy, no energy..etc, etc.) plus the fear of eating food, you really ought to seek some help..
regardless, low carb diets will also mimic these types of feelings (they do for me anyway, I feel so sluggish on low carb days OMG) - but like I've said bro, you really should get some professional help to beat this S.O.B. of a problem, and seriously I know how you feel because I had the same type of thing for the last few months, but with help you can and will overcome the fear of eating..
if you need to vent or talk, hit me up on AIM - Schlotzter16.. i'm on a lot, and would be happy to talk to you.
good luck.. and I know you'll make it though this rough time.

best of luck man ull push through this coming from a 15 year old doing 3x cardio a day and working out 3 times a week.. what were u thiking? thats what i want to know
also a PB and banana sandwich doesnt nearly pack on the cals as does any other sandwiches do.. just take a tuna sandwich and put PB on the bread.. it yields about the same cals,
i would reccomend to him maybe some WW pasta with olive oil as the dressing, getting more almonds / fats with higher calories
i use to be the same way when i was about 125 lbs too so i really cant talk, but man ur 15 and u were doing this to ur body? ur going to kill ur growth spurt .. this is the time of ur life where u shuold be eating everything u can to get all the nutrtioin in ur body as possible for when ur growing

Repps to you my friend... Thanks man,
it just sucks feeling like that about food, I hit a rough patch for a month or two where i was afraid to eat more than 1000 calories..
the point is, the sooner you recognize your problem the sooner you can work to fix it.. it didn't happen for me overnight, but my way to overcome this was to increase my calories by about 100-150 each week.. i eventually worked my way up to a reasonable caloric intake for a cut (1800) instead of 800.. and now I take in an average of 2300 a week.. so like I said, you CAN overcome this.
