Lose fat without losing muscle
Hi everyone.
I am 5'9 with a high metabolism. I went from 135 to 165 in about 6 months. Although it feels good to finally be bigger, I have collected a small pudge around my stomach. This wouldn't be too much of a problem if my arms and legs weren't so skinny.
I'd like to lose the fat without losing the muscle that I've worked so hard to gain. I tried going 1 month within the 6 month period with a low-calorie/low-protein diet and lost considerable mass on my arms (which is the part that I would like to keep).
Is there a way that I can lose the fat without losing the muscle? I read in an earlier post that eating 500 calories less than maintenance levels can do the trick, but I'm afraid that would just take off muscle. I've also been doing cardiovascular work (running 2-5 miles every other day) but it hasn't really affected my fat as far as I can tell.
keep your protine up and cut the fat and carbs.
