i haven't had a cheat meal/fast food for at least a year and my metabolism seems to have slowed. do you think if i go out and have a meal at a restaurant it could help my metabolism?

No, one cheat meal won't boost your metabolism. Exercise boosts your metabolism. And like the poster above me said, at 6'1" and 127 @ 15 years old, why are you even using the phrase "cheat meal". Just eat. Eat a lot.

Why wouldn't it boost metabolism? I've seen through myself and a lot of competitive bodybuilders that it does indeed keep the fat burning process going. If you are consistently eating the same amount of cals per day you are naturally going to slow down your metabolism over time. When you introduce a huge surplus of calories into your system your metabolism speeds up to try and burn the excess off.

The TEF will boost the metabolism for a few hours after simply due to the high calories, but in the long run, it's about homeostasis. Your body wants to stay the same. If you ate those calories for an extended amount of time, then yes your body would adjust eventually. Just like fasting completely for one day does not slow down the metabolism in the long run, or weight lifting once a year does not get you big. It has to be consistent.

Say your body burns 2000 cals a day... and you take in 1500, you are now 500 calories deficient weight loss will happen...yay! but your body will recognize that if it continues to do so, it will eventually die off so it will slow down its metbolism and only burn 1500. With a cheat meal your body will think everything is back to normal and go back to its reg of burning 2000 cals.

It may provide psychological boosts, but no metabolic boost on one meal alone.

If you are looking to boost metabolism, a refeed would prove more beneficial. Read up on leptin.
For a cheat meal, that's mainly for psychological factors/being social, etc.
Both have their place.
