What is the diet of an mma fighter? Is it really that different than abody builder? by far the dumbest question alive.
Think about it. these guys, on average, have to cut anywhere from 10-20 lbs before their fight. You think their diet is going to be different than a bodybuilder, who works and eats to GAIN weight?

retard. negged oh so every bodybuilder wants to gain weight? ive been BBing for years and i only recently started wanting to gain weight (yes ex-fatty).
MMA fighters eat around maintanance calories until right before a fight, where they shed a couple pounds of bf and a a couple pounds of water.
BBers eat whatever the hell their goals are. if your cutting, maintaining, or bulking its all different.

eat like a farmboy.. dont eat shit with alot of ingrediants...
i stick too potatoes, blueberries, tuna, wheat bread, unsalted peanuts, peanut butter, strawberries, chicken breasts, skim milk, grits, oats
only supplements i take are multivitamins, whey, and fishoil
40% protein
40% carb
20% fat
i think thats good because you can't get too many calories in since ur maintaining bodyweight but u def. need protein for muscle recovery since everyone is flirting the line of overtraining and carbs for energy of course.. and everyones body needs 20% of their calories to come from fat ... even though u are maintaining weight ur diet should be almost as strick as a bodybuilder that is cutting, u want as much muscle mass on ur frame as possible thats why i make sure i just barely get my 20% of fat in daily...
i think its ideal to keep bodyfat levels around 8-10% at all times then cut ur bodyfat to around 6% a couple weeks before fight and the rest of the weight u cut should be water weight... the little bit of extra bodyfat helps when training all the time, keeping it at 6% at all times would be rough and u dont ever want it to be at 3-4% like competitive bodybuilders
Sound Like A Really Ggod Plan.
What would the macros be for the diet of a MMA sportsman?

I'm sure it varies on which fighter. I think on average a heavyweights diet would definetely be different than a lightweights or middleweights.

retard. negged MMA fighters also burn a hell of a lot more calories. I remember on all access Chuck saying he maintains at about 4200 calories? I'd say that's about average for a bulking diet for a 205 lb bodybuilder who does limited cardio. Not Ronnie obviously, but taking into account guys of the same weight.
As for the food itself, it's probably pretty similar. Clean foods are clean foods. Maybe a bit higher percentage of carbs for an MMAist but nothing too different.
Maybe you shouldn't jump all over the guy for asking a perfect valid question before you go calling anyone a retard.
Drink your own urine.
