home made sushi? anyone?cutting phase.
anyone do it? if so how do u do it? thx a lot
nope. but if i was on a cutting phase i would make it with brown rice, and nothing with mayo, or just have sashimi
Yes I have!!! It's so fun!!! Here's what you need:
Seaweed Wraps
Rice
Sushi Fish (not anything frozen, it HAS to be fresh)
Bamboo Wrapping Sheet
Optional:
Cucumber
Avocado
Pickled Radish
Carrot
Soy Sauce/Wasabi/Ginger
You have to cut all your veggies/fish into long strips while you make your rice. Then when everything is prepared, you set the seaweed on the bamboo sheet and then make a long "log" of rice on it. Lay down the strips on/next to the rice, and then roll it tightly into a long log all together. Wet the end of the seaweed (like rolling a cigarette i guess) so it sticks to itsself, and press the edge down like on an envelope. Then slice the log into 3/4 in. thick slices.
i got all the ingredients plus i have the rice vinegar. but i have white rice...i think ill get tomorrow some brown rice.Thank you for the recipe, ill try some tomorrow with brown rice:) tomorrow ill have the raw salmon fresh and the shrimps.

Awesome! If you want to do the nigiri style (not the rolls) you just filet the shrimps and lay them on the rice, which you have to really squish together, and then cut the seaweed into strips and wrap it around, and then don't forget to wet the bottom :)
When I did this with my bf we only had 2 tuna steaks and 1 salmon and it made SO much sushi.
While cutting I eat sashimi - no work at all!
Make sure you are getting SUSHI GRADE fish.
