Linux - loading custom MIBS into snmp
Anyone have any experiences with this?
I know this is a body-building board, but there are a few other fairly experienced computer guys on here.... (I have also posted this on some computer forums)
Anyways, I'm trying to run snmpttconvertmib on the Alpha XM Mibs (SCTE-HMS-ROOT.mib, SCTE-HMS-PS-MIB.mib, etc).
However, I'm getting dependency errors every time I run the command. Ex. sudo /usr/sbin/snmpttconvertmib --in /usr/share/snmp/mibs/SCTE-HMS-COMMON-MIB.mib --out /etc/snmp/snmptt.test
Gives me the following error:
Variables: commonPhysAddress commonLogicalID
Looking up via snmptranslate: SCTE-HMS-COMMON-MIB::hmsColdStart
No log handling enabled - turning on stderr logging
Cannot find module (SCTE-ROOT): At line 31 in /usr/share/snmp/mibs/SCTE-HMS-COMMON-MIB.mib
Cannot find module (SCTE-HMS-ROOTS): At line 35 in /usr/share/snmp/mibs/SCTE-HMS-COMMON-MIB.mib
Did not find 'scteHmsTree' in module #-1 (/usr/share/snmp/mibs/SCTE-HMS-COMMON-MIB.mib)
Did not find 'commonIdent' in module #-1 (/usr/share/snmp/mibs/SCTE-HMS-COMMON-MIB.mib)
Then a bunch of undefined/unlinked identifier errors.
Both SCTE-ROOT.mib and SCTE-HMS-ROOTS are located in the same directory as SCTE-HMS-COMMON-MIB.mib (/usr/share/snmp/mibs), and I have already run the command export MIBS=ALL, as well as export MIBDIRS=/usr/local/share/snmp/mibs.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this error would be greatly appreciated.
