What kind of rice is good for cutting?

brown or wild I believe. Wild is okay, right guys?

I usually cut out carbs cause I do keto, but quinoa would be a good choice too. More protein than the average rice.

I've heard good things about Basmati rice, and Quinoa is a wonderful grain, i eat it a lot instead of rice or pasta.

usually brown rice, but every once in a while I get kinda tired of it so I'll have some Jasmine rice

Answer:

Rice
Stick with brown. Just stay away from white. Basmati or whatever it is ...it pretty good....some wild rices can have a lot of carbs...depending on the brand. Just be careful. :-)

Thanks! Brown rice has a lower glycemic index than white rice, meaning (among many things) it is digested slower, leaving you feeling fuller for longer. Any source of complex carbohyrdrate that is closer to nature is generally going to be better for you. Also try oatmeal, sweet potatoes, and bread from %100 whole grain sources (The first ingredient on the ingredient list should be %100 whole grain/wheat flour). Good luck.

Glycemic index is irrelevant, and digestion has little to do with the feeling of fullness once it is out of the stomach. Yes, it will leave you feeling fuller than white rice due to the fiber, but that is hardly enough reason to warrants its exclusive use over white rice.

If it leaves you feeling fuller for longer, and his question has to do with foods that are good for cutting weight, what exactly is your point?

Answer:

Brown rice! Or magic rice which makes you lose fat instantly

Answer:

If it leaves you feeling fuller for longer, and his question has to do with foods that are good for cutting weight, what exactly is your point? There is nothing good about feeling fuller that affects fat loss. It's satiety index does not make it better for cutting weight than white rice, especially if he likes white rice

It's satiety index does not make it better for cutting weight than white rice, especially if he likes white rice Sorry man, but how can you believe that FEELING FULLER more often WILL NOT help you lose weight. Say it out loud, it sounds rediculous.
Well, whatever. I prefer brown rice for weight loss myself.

Well, whatever. I prefer brown rice for weight loss myself. Doesn't sound ridiculous at all. The only way feeling fuller could help weight loss is you would eat less, but this is irrelevant if you follow a macro plan or a set diet and have a shred of self discipline.

Answer:

A benefit of eating brown rice is that the fiber slows down the absorption of carbohydrates. This helps tame blood-sugar spikes. Fiber also has a healthy effect on our cholesterol levels and may help to reduce this risk of cardiovascular disease.
Besides the fiber found in the brown rice, the bran contains nutrients like magnesium, manganese, niacin, and zinc.
And lastly, it tastes better...imo.

And then eating less would put ur body into more of a starvation mode and eat at ur muscle tissues and ur body would go into a panick mode and start storing fat, so i guess in a way u have more of a point then the other dude. If u cant eat ur next meal after 3 hours cause ur still full, then dont eat the brown rice. But i have herd brown is better!!!

Here's a little read on brown vs white: http://www.drlam.com/opinion/brown_r...white_rice.cfm
I prefer brown myself, but white rice isn't terrible.

Answer:

Doesn't sound ridiculous at all. The only way feeling fuller could help weight loss is you would eat less, but this is irrelevant if you follow a macro plan or a set diet and have a shred of self discipline. Higher fiber foods have been shown time and time again to aid in weight loss because they help satiety. It is not "irrelevant" how full someone feels when dieting. It's one of the most important factors, in fact. Human beings are not robots. I can't believe someone with thousands of posts would say otherwise. True, the two foods may be similar calorically, but brown rice is unarguably a healthier food. How can you say the glycemic index is irrelevant when it's partly responsible for the rate at which carbohydrates are used for energy, therefor potentially making it easier to eat less? By your argument, you could eat twinkies all day, as long as you stay within your caloric limit. I would disagree. The quality of your calories matters incredibly.

Answer:

I eat them all when cutting. Brown, white, yellow.
Cutting, as you all know, I'm sure, means you reduce your daily caloric intake. I repeat, you reduce the amount of calories you take in on a daily basis. So you can eat white rice, just eat less of it. You can eat yellow rice, just eat less of it.

Answer:

I'm not saying white's terrible but saying that brown is not better for cutting is just ignorance. WHY would you not want to feel full longer when on a cut, it's not a willpower thing it's a common sense thing.
