ever feel useless? (serious)
i dont know what to do. I got laid off from my job, didnt even give me a good reason. Had a hard time trying to find other jobs and starting to run out of money. i just dont know what to do. it sucks being in this frame of mind.
i have a univ. degree in Information Systems, but most people are only hiring people with experience.
should i just give up and get a builders job or labouring job that pays not much at all.
anyone else been like this before? what'd you do?
theres my little emo moment for the day
Dude I sit at work 8 hours a day and do absolutely nothing!! Talk about feeling useless... pays well tho and it's only an internship
A constant feeling of uselessness combined with an almost irritating feeling of improving myself keeps me motivated.
I got no job, i got no money, i got no friends in my town, i got no GF, im on the net all day.
I feel useless everyday of my life

should i just give up and get a builders job or labouring job that pays not much at all. Definitely not! Once you leave your field, it's extremely hard to get back into it. Employers do not look kindly on big gaps in your resume, but filling them with menial work unrelated to your field is even worse.
Try working on some projects of your own, just stupid stuff like building your own network in your home to automatically backup pictures from your sisters digital camera for her or something. Anything you can talk about in an interview when they ask you, "so, what have you been up to for the past 6 months?" Get out there and meet people. Go to job fairs, tech conferences, use your network (of contacts, not ethernet).
Don't take a crappy job just to make ends meet. That's what Employment Insurance is for. At least, that's what Canada has. Doesn't the US have something equivalent?
What about an apprenticeship somewhere?
when ever i feel useless i just think of you and how much of a tool you are, and then i realize im not so useless afterall :)
i feel useless when ever some one excels higher than me at my job and gets all the praise n shit, and that person only been working 2 weeks at my job. talk about a swift kick in the pride spot.
I'm working 16 hours a week at a dead end job. Going to college but no real clue of what i want to do. The only thing i'm good at is making my girl moan.
Dude I sit at work 8 hours a day and do absolutely nothing!! Talk about feeling useless... pays well tho and it's only an internship LOL same here :D Tomorrow is my last day though, then it's back to school and retail :P But hopefully I'll work in the Fitness dept. so I can do nothing and practice my pullups :D I don't mind feeling useless at work haha
I fel useless everytime I start a new job, I have to keep asking questions.
But yeah, I know what you are feeling, I have a degree to, but can't get into what I want. Right now I am working sales in a big box store and it sucks.

well life is way too short to be mopping around! Your life is in your hand you either sit around and contemplate why people dont want to hire you or you don't give up, strive hard and apply on every jobs that's available for you out there. Is your choice!
I been there before, it tooks me 4 to 5 months to get a job. I had applied everyday thru online and in person. I even called them everyday to see if the job is still available and check if they got my resume. I got no experience working in a pharmacy setting at all. Out of 10 people that my pharmacy manager interviewed. 7 of them have experience working in a pharmacy setting and certified. Shit! I know for a fact I got 0 chance! But I didn't give up I called in everyday to see if the position is still available and to let them know that I am still interested. Of course I still applied on every pharmacy store that is available on my area. Luckily I got hired! I got hired because he told me that I seem motivated ,eager to learn and very interested on the job.
Of course he have to see on me that I am smart also, ha ha!
so there..stand up, go out there and have confidence! Go get them tiger! lol
