Answer:

i know salt plays a big part with water retention and can have a good effect on ur bodyfat if consumed too much
if its hurting you that much watch how many canned foods you take in and read ur labels, here are a ton of articles that others have suggested on the boards

Answer:

Only worry about sodium if your in contest prep mode, or have a history of high blood pressure in the family.

Answer:

nah its cool, i was just wondering why bodybuilders are so against salt.. i thought it was something like sugar that leads to fat if it isnt used as an energy source

Answer:

Nah, they're only scared of it during contest prep, makes them look more bloated and less vascular.

Answer:

Sodium is essential 4 life . . .
Sodium is an indispensible electrolyte our bodies can't manufacture. In fact u can die if u don't get enough. Very little danger of that w/ the typical American diet however, LOL!
As others have said, the issue w/ sodium is most always getting too much rather than too little, so its something we should be paying attention 2 in our diets.
The consensus Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) 4 healthy adults w/o fluid retention issues is 2400 mg per day:

Answer:

We get enough sodium from the food we eat, it's in everything nowadays. So I rarely add any salt to my food.

Answer:

as long as you drink your fair share of water i feel as tho a little sodium here and there is ok. i drink around a gallon of water a day and still take small amounts of salt on my food. personally i don't feel as tho im bloated or otherwise so all is well. i believe a good amount of sodium is 2400mg a day? i could be wrong.
also if ure cooking alot i find that herb blends is a great way to season without the added sodium of say seasoned salt or marinades.
