ALERT: Important Update about E-mail Security
Information Security would like you to be aware of a new electronic greeting card scam.
A number of users at xxxxx have received e-mails with the subject line "You have received a Hallmark E-Card!? or a similar message. If you click on the link included in this message, you will potentially download malicious software, such as a virus or Trojan, to your computer. If you receive any message like the example below, please do not open it. Instead, forward the message as an attachment in a new e-mail to abuse@global.sprint.com or "Spam Abuse" in Lotus Notes. Delete the original message from your system once it has been forwarded.
The message is very deceiving and looks legitimate. There may also be several variations of the e-mail. Please be extremely cautious of any e-mail described as an e-card. As always, practicing safe computing is our best defense against these scams. Avoid opening untrusted/suspicious files, clicking on strange links in e-mails and accessing nonbusiness related web sites.
