Do you look your best when feeling your worst?
Do you look your best when feeling your worst?
Just wanted to muse on the old saying 'You always look at your best when you're feeling at your worst'.
Basically, I've had some bad news this week which I've been struggling to come to terms with. I found out last night that my beloved cat has a terminal illness and now has probably less than a fortnight to live.
Getting into work today was a triumph of will to put it mildly - thankfully it's sunny so I can hide behind my sunnies. But what puzzles me is that I literally just chucked on stuff this morning and have never received so many compliments in one day (and this is from people who don't know what's going on with me)
I'm completely stupefied as when I'm feeling good and positive - not one iota of compliments comes my way. Truly baffling. Does this experience ring true for other Fashion baggers?

I tend to put on my nicer clothes and 'special occassion' makeup when I am feelin down, just to try and perk myself up a bit.
sorry to hear about your cat by the way, i'm sure she has had a great life with you, and you can be proud of that
hug from me :higgies:

Just wanted to say sorry to hear your having such a rubbish time
I know what you mean though, when I'm ill my skin tone seems to even out  Which is quite random!

Sorry to hear your bad news scholar77
Sometimes I get unexpected compliments and I actually mean it when I say 'What? This old thing?' :D and other days I take ages getting ready and don't get a comment.
But most of the time I actually make more effort if I'm happy and cheerful. If I'm miserable with the world I can't be bothered to make an effort!

Thank you for your kind comments.
My cat (he's a boy) is 14 years old so he's had a very good innings, but it's still a devastating blow as I've had him since I was 14 years old.
He's in no pain at the moment, and as far as he's concerned, everything's as normal so we're just concentrating on giving him a lovely quality of life for as long as he's going to be with us.
