Would this red skirt be alterable?
Would this red skirt be alterable?
On another thread I posted that I really want a red dress or possibly skirt and top, now I spent all weekend looking for something suitable with no luck. I even started looking for white ones that I could dye, but still no luck.
I do like this one but it is almost ankle length so I was hoping someone would know if is possible to shorten a skirt from the top rather than the bottom, as there are too many pleats at the bottom and it would lose its shape etc.
At the top is just a concealed zip, would a dressmaker be able to remove the zip and about 5” and then put a zip back on do you think? http://www.wallis-fashion.com/cgi-bi...i?prodid=WLU53

tbh, if the skirt requires that many alterations I'd be inclined to think it's not the right one. Are you looking for a knee length one mimi? (btw I tried on the dress you posted this weekend and it's SO weird! looks lovely on the hanger and then so wrong on!)
Primark has a nice floaty knee length red skirt right now and I'm sure more will be around as the summer (not late spring) stocks come in.
ETA: what kind of styles of dresses/skirts were you looking for again? Miss Selfridge has a casual red shirt dress and a couple of smart red pencil dresses online right now.

Hi thanks for those I like the next one, but I’m after something more full IYSWIM, something along the lines of skirt part of the Red pleated pintuck dress and the Ruched sun dress from warehouse if that makes any sense?
I think I’m just too fussy and looking for something that doesn’t exist, although I found plenty of black ones.
And I know what you mean about the dress I felt like it was wearing me not the other way around.
