Smart stuff
Smart stuff
Ok ladies, in exactly 4 weeks I will be thrusted out of university life and into the real world of work...for a while only I hope though :p
I need to buy smart work gear to last me a year and needs to be appropriate for temping work so needs to be flexible when i'm working in a less causal or more formal environment (yes I have put a lot of thought into this :o ).
So far the only clothes and accessories I have that could be moulded for work is:
*A navy fitted long sleeve shirt with thick and thin white stripes
*Black leather ballet pumps with just a simple bow
*Black pointed kitten heel boots
*Black big mock-croc leather birkin style bag, very structured
*Plain black and white vests, crew neck tops
So not much really :o
What else would be worth buying?
I'm hoping to buy 2 new suits, a black trouser suit and a grey pinstripe suit hopefully. However, I cant afford to break the bank and the only suitable ones I have found have been sold out online :( Any suggestions where I can find good quality suits but not too expensive?
I also want to buy one or two shirts, but I dont want those ugly white cotton shirts, they remind me to much of school shirts :sniffles: And I was thinking maybe a waistcoat when i'm in a more casual environment?
Is there anything I'm missing? Of course I will need more shoes as two pairs is  and too
Which stores are recommended for suiting and smart clothes?
Wow abit of an essay :o But I'd appreciate any help, coping with the idea of wearing something other than jeans has been traumatising enough!
Help! xx

What about Next? They're good for suits and semi-formal work stuff I would imagine.

I wouldn't go too mad with the smart stuff until you know where you'll be working! After I left uni I some smart stuff but then I got a job in a very casual office and hardly ever wear any of it!
It's definitely worth getting some good suits for interviews though, I got a nice pale pink one from Dorothy Perkins and my sister who has to be smart gets a lot of her office stuff from next.
Good luck!
