Bra Size calculation help
Bra Size calculation help
Ive put a bit of weight on recently and my bras are all digging in, I dont really want to get measured in M&S or the like so I did my own measurements and searched the net to find the calculations, I cant beleive what I am seeing, they vary from 38AA (which I am so clearly NOT) to 36D.
I dont know which one is right, and I need some new bras desperately.
Does anyone know the *correct* way to calculate the size?
Answers:
Go to a shop and try about 50 different bras on. That or go to Bravissimo.
There should be no spillage from the front of sides of your cups (if there is, you need to go up a cup size).
The front bit between your breasts should be against your chest (if it isn't you need to go up a cup size)
The back strap should sit horizontally across your back without digging in to form backboobs.
If it does dig in - go up a back size
If the strap rides up to somewhere near your earlobes - go down a back size.
Each time you go up or downa back size, you'll need to alter the cup size accordingly (down a cup size - up a back size and vice versa)
Figleaves think I'm a 38B, M&S say 34C, most of my bras are a 32E.

bras can vary alot between brands and styles, so be sure to try on every different type, just don't buy on size. Baargain has some great advice there. Don't get 'measured' in m&s. They are pants at it.

I swear I should open a bra shop
And Ohara is right, there's a cup size difference between Debenhams and La Senza for example

Until just before xmas i was wearing 36b bras. I decided to get myself measured at debenhams (sp?) and discovered that i should be wearing a 30d! my bras now fit me perfectly and my breasts look so much better in fitted tops. my mum has the next cat and i have tried their sizing guides and found them to measure me at the same size as debenhams did.
here is a link if you look under sizing guides and bras it should provide you with the info
