O/T Bunions
O/T Bunions
Sorry, a bit gross I know but I'm so sick of having horrible feet!
I've got a very large one on my right foot and it is so uncomfortable. I love wearing pointy shoes and heels and I know it is making it worse.:( I'm only 26 but I've had it for at least 4 years.
Does anyone else suffer??

don't worry - I've had them all my life and they've got worse through my extensive ballet when I was younger!
I'm only 20 and had an operation on one of them (both feet are affected) when I was 16! The op didn't go right for me but they are usually very succesful - the only problem is that you won't be able to wear heels afterwards!! :(
If it's really sore, go and see a podiatrist - mine was really helpful and gave me splints to wear at night and also made me some special insoles to go in my shoes (flat shoes though!).
Either way - I know how you feel! And I know how annoying it is when all your friends are wearing little strappy heels and you can't because bits of feet look like they're busting out the sides!!!  We should start a 'bunion friendly pretty shoes' thread!!! :D

Hey Jess i just seen this, i have them and i had the Op when i was 18 ( im 21 now) and it went fine for me, and as long as it goes ok once they heal you can defo wear heels!:)
It really helped me, and the only problem i had with it are the scars are a alittle unsightly, they are quite big, but no one ever really notices them! Most shoes hide them!
I had really bad really sticky out ones on both feet:(

Mine were so bad by the time I was 15 that I couldn't bear any shoes making contact with them. I had physio on mine to build the muscles in the arch of my foots and pull the joint back straight, it worked but it was very painful. Now nearly 30 year later I can wear any shoes I like and if my toe joints start slipping I just do the exercises for a couple of weeks. The only real negative legacy I have is that I am prone to cramping in the muscles in the arch of my foot.
