The lady I work with in my new job ordered a new mobile phone today and I asked her what she was doing with her old one (a silver razr) as I wanted to buy it from her for the boy as he is using an really old handset. Anyway, she has just said that she doesn't want any money for it, I can have it and she will bring all the accessories in for it tomorrow.
I feel terrible, I said that I wanted to give her some money and she said absolutely no way. I feel especially bad as i have seen how much they are going for on ebay.
Obviously I can buy her a gift to say thanks but I feel like I am ripping her off in some way??

I would get her some flowers and maybe some gift vouchers? That way you can still pay something close to how much you were prepared to pay
ETA she is probs more likely to accept some vouchers rather than cash - I definitely would be

Does she know how much they are going for on ebay? She might not realise that it is still worth anything, which might be why she won't accept any money.
I would probably buy her a small gift - nothing too big so as to not embarrass her though.

Wish someone would donate one to me- I have to physically hold mine together to recharge it, my last one got dropped in a cup of tea and then had to be held together with cellotape. I am crap with phones.
