Aarrrhh bloody River Island
Aarrrhh bloody River Island
I ordered 2 pairs of trousers and a top (totalling £80) on the 28th May and they still haven’t come, every time I get in touch they just say sorry for the delay they will be here soon. SOON would be the 3-5 working days delivery they promised.
I sent them a very strongly worded email last Friday demanding to know where they were and letting them know what I think of their customer relationship management and they just said when they arrive lets us know and we will refund your postage.
Let them know! How about they let me know.
Is there anything I can do to demand compensation (apart from a pathetic £3) and I’m moving house at the end of the month no doubt I will have to let them know that address seen as its unlikely to arrive before then.

River island are crap when it comes to delivery, i waited almost 2 weeks for my parcel too and after i'd emailed it arrived the next day, what a coincidence:rolleyes:
I'd see if you can call them, you might have better luck than an email. Say it looks pretty obvious that the parcel is lost and you want your money refunded. Tell a white lie and say your house move is due in 2 weeks time and also say the delivery time isn't what was stated on the site.
Grrrrr

Ooh ooh me too! River Island are crap at delivering stuff. I've had things take up to 2 weeks from thembefore, but I think yours is going over the time limit a bit too much - thats getting on for nearly 3 weeks isn't it?
I'm in a similar position at the moment - I ordered a River Island parcel worth £125 on about the 17th May or something like that, and it never turned up. I originally thought my uni halls of residence had lost it, but River Island have been unable to give me any proof that it was actually delivered, so I'm in the process of trying to claim compensation off River Island themselves at the moment. I've got to say, they've been quite helpful when I've emailed them and you do usually get a response within 48 hours - but it's a right pain in the bum that there's no phone number for them, I hate doing it all by email.
Send them yet another strongly worded email, telling them they've broken the terms of their contract with you, and that the order is now no good to you, due to the fact that you are moving house and can no longer recieve parcels at your old address. You want to cancel the order, and you want a full refund credited to your account, otherwise you are prepared to take the matter further to Trading Standards and the Small Claims Court if necessary. I did this the other day, following other Bagger's advice, when a different company refused to deliver my order - and I had it the next day! Good luck!

thanks guys this is the email I sent them:
Thank you for getting back to me, however I am still waiting for my parcel
to arrive and it is approaching the 3-week mark.
I think it is safe to assume that the items I purchased were unavailable or
out of stock at the time of ordering hence the delay, I find this to be an
abysmal example of customer service and would have not purchased the items
if I had known about it.
I strongly suggest that in future you warn customers of any delay at the
time of purchase and the very least you can do is send out an email
explaining any unexpected delays in shipment. As someone who works in the
fashion marketing industry and is a frequent contributor to the fashion and
female consumer press I am amazed that your customer relationship
management
is so poor.
If you could please let me know when I can expect to receive my order I
would be very grateful. I do not expect this to be any longer than the next
few days or to reach the 4-week mark or I will not only be seeking a full
refund but further advice on the matter as I feel that this should be
brought to both a private watchdog and public consumer awareness.
And they are still pissing around. Needless to say I will not be ordering from their online store ever again.
Thanks for that Chocolatejo I’ll give it a try
