designer shoe repairs in london
A disaster has already befallen my beloved miu miu shoes, My suitcase's bottom has broken and there is now a scraped off piece of leather from the footbed, just above where it meets the glittery heel. it is too late to get them fixed for saturday now, so i'll have to colour it in with gold pen ( ), but does anyone know any trusted repairers for expensive shoes, so I could get a quote from them.

Answers:

Yes - try Classic Shoes on Brecknock Road, London N7 (020 7485 5275) . They can work absolute wonders with shoes and I know they work with Miu Miu (as well as most designers). I've taken shoes to other places where they've given me a straight no can do; go into Classic Shoes and they'll do it. I think they're the only repairers of their type in the UK. They mended my red Miu Miu wedding shoes from a few years back that were trashed beyond belief - can't recommend them enough! People post their shoes in to them from all over the place.
(And no, I am not on the payroll!! :o)
NB: they are a bit pricier than the usual cobbler, but well worth it for the care they take.

Thank you, a girl i know recommended them to me, as she worked in Edinburgh Harvey Nicks and they would send them down but I couldn't find them when I googled them.
Do you think it would still be fixable if I put a blob of gold pen or nail varnish over the spot where it has scraped and is now black, for Saturday or just leave it and hope no one will notice until I can get it repaired?

Answers:

I dunno - I'd hate to say either way in case it ruined them. Is it really noticeable? Could you get a gold glittery sticker and cut a bit out of that to make it less obvious? A gold star or something...:uzzle:

Just to say i have just got off the phone to Classic Shoes about my Kurt Geiger stilletos and a pair of cream boots - both of them need recolouring at the tips of the toes
the guy was really lovely and told me to pack them well and send down to them for a quote - will have to wait til I come back from my hols but I cant wait as it means i might be finally able to wear the shoes for the third time in 7 yrs!!! Scuffed them the second time i wore them and all the cobblers tell me to get stuffed - cream boots i scuffed after about 4 wears - can you see a pattern!!!
Just hope the quote isn't too high though bearing in mind I have not been able to wear nearly £200's worth of shoes!!
He was really flattered about being recommended as well - though i am not sure he understood what here.com was!!
So hugey thanks for the reccy - all those other cobblers can sod off!!
