Holiday Packing

Holiday Packing
Got this in an email from a small newsletter that I subscribe to, thought it may be useful for others as I never know what to pack.
What does everyone think of the list? She says to take trousers but I hardly ever wear keks when I am hot as they stick to me!! :o

Style Tips for Holiday Packing
Find packing for your holiday a chore? End up taking half your summer wardrobe and yet only wear half of it?!?
Leave some space for the essentials - sun lotion and trashy novels of course! - by mixing and matching less items to make more.
Here are our top tips on what you should be packing in your suitcase this summer...
2 pairs of trousers including 1 pair of jeans
2 pairs of shorts
2 skirts
2 fancy tops
1 dress
Selection of plain tops for day and evening
1 cardigan & wrap
2 bikinis
1 sarong (to match)
1 beach towel
1 evening bag
2 pairs of flip flops
2 pairs of walking shoes
1 pair of high heels
1 beach bag & a sun hat
...and some more tips on how to mix and match them...
Match jeans with a simple t-shirt for travelling and mix with a fancy top for evening cocktails.
Match tailored shorts with a feminine top for a romantic dinner and mix with a plain strappy top for daytime strolls.
Pack a dress - one of this summer's essential items! - that can be accessorised for both day and evening. Add high heels and an evening bag for sunset drinks and mix it with flip-flops and a sun hat for an alfresco lunch.
Match a colourful kaftan - another of this season's must-haves! - with white trousers for an evening BBQ and mix with a bikini for the beach

Hmm I'm not sure I totally agree with that. I tend to just take a pair of jeans for cool nights and certainly no walking shoes  But its good as a general guide.

Answers:

I think its fairly good but I don't see the need for two pairs of walking shoes. I usually do take a pair of trousers for travelling in & for evenings when it can cool down alot.

I'm writing a packing list at the moment and it looks like this:
Sunhat
3 bikinis
2 sarongs
6 bandeau tops :o
3 vest tops
3 short (ish) skirts
2 long skirts
2 dresses (NL dress and LX Direct empire line dress)
2 shrugs
2 cardigans
4 pashminas/wraps (I prefer these to cardigans as they keep the mozzies of my shoulders without being too warm)
2 pairs gauchos (one black and one grey)
Shoes:
tan low wedges
Havaianas x 2
ballet pumps x 2
Various necklaces and bracelets
Actually, that seems like quite a lot. Especially as it is a spa beach hotel and it's currently 96 degrees so I probably won't get far past the bikini and sarong stage!

Jeans? On holiday? Nooooo, that will never happen in my suitcase :D I also think you need a lot more than 2 bikinis (I'm taking 5 for my holiday to Greece next month, and I'm only going for a week!) The rest is good though :)
Shiny's list is a lot closer to what I'd take :beach:
