What to wear to Chepstow races?

What to wear to Chepstow races?
  Hi,
Has anyone been to chepstow races? I'm going this Friday with work for the evening meet and really don't know what to wear.
Were heading to some bars/clubs after so really not sure but one option is my flood length black skinnies with some kind of top?
What do you think? Thanks

Hello! I have never been before so I dont know what the dress code is, but if you are going to be walking on grass or gravel y might be better in wedges or you will ruin your heels with them sinking in! :)

Hi Rd
I went to Chepstow Races the other week with work.
I went during the day though and wore black flood length skinnies, bronze ballet pumps, a black blazer and big green pashmina. It was sunny but windy so I was glad of my pashmina!
There was a real mix of people, some dressed up, some didn't. I would imagine it's maybe a bit dressier for evening meets though.
My horses came in last in just about every race, so I hope you have better luck than me!

Red Dragon,
Haven't ever been to Chepstow, but have frequented many other race courses.
What you have planned to wear will be ideal, especially if you are heading out after the races too. Will you be comfortable in those shoes all evening, cos you could be on your feet a lot at the races?
I would say keep an eye on the weather forecast nearer the time, just in case. It can get a little chilly once the sun goes down, but if the weather continues like it is, you'll be dandy.
Otherwise - have a great evening (word of advice - take two purses - one with the amount of money you are will to lose on the horses and the other with your spends for the evening otherwise!)

Thanks everyone for the good tips..
Nursie - i think i must be the only girl who doesn't own a pair of wedges - maybe i should invest.
Popoki - i'm hoping for a bit of beginners luck as i know nothing about horseracing! Your outfit sounded nice and glad to know there was a mixture of people there.
Jeepers - love the tip about two purses - after a couple of drinks a tenner always seems worth less!
Think i need to wait and see what the weather is going to do and but definietly take something a bit warmer as well.
