For LapisLazuli* How to make a shrug
1 Attachment(s) For a 3/4 length sleeve shrug get someone to measure from the midpoint between your wrist and your elbow (on the back of your arm) across your back to the the same point on the other arm. Do this with you arms outstretched.
If you want a long sleeved shrug measure from wrist to wrist.
The length of the scarf will depend on your measurement as above and should be approx 17 inches wide. A narrower scarf will make more fitted sleeves and a wider scarf will make a kimono style sleeve.
The most challenging thing is finding a scarf that's the right length. Take a tape measure in your bag when you go shopping :) Charity shops are great places to get scarves from.
Use lightweight scarves for summer shrugs and nice warm ones for winter.
You can use any sort of fabric instead of a scarf but then you need to hem the edges of the piece of fabric first.

Hi Chatelaine, I know I'm not Lapis Lazuli, but that's a really good idea, am going to give it a go.
