Nothing fits!

Nothing fits!
First of all, apologies if this has been done recently but I haven't been on the fashion board for a while.
I've just read the "Blog on Fashion" and there's an article about how sizing is all over the place and nothing seems to fit.
I think it's important to split this into two separate issues:
1. Sizing is getting more generous. If you used to get a size 10, you can now get a size 8. If this was really all that was happening, we wouldn't have that much of a problem really because we'd all just buy a smaller size and that would be that (although I'm now finding a couple of shops where the size 8 is too big for me and they don't actually have anything small enough to fit me, in fact I recently bought a size 6 in M&S which I find totally ridiculous).
2. This is the main problem, really - the actual shape of the clothes is changing not just the size. I'm talking about proportion, the waist/hip ratio, the length of top and bottom halves, the amount of curvature in the clothes etc. I'm finding this a much more serious problem. I went to Dorothy Perkins the other day and tried on about five things and honestly, none of them fitted. They were too big in places and too small in other places. They were just the wrong shape. This is odd because I have plenty of older clothes from the same shop that fit me fine.
Sorry, but I have gone into "nothing fits me" mode. I have honestly never had this problem to such a large extent in my entire life!

Yeah they're all over the place. Primark is one of the worst offenders - if I like something in there I usually take 3 size to try on. It's nuts

Although it peeves me off no end that sizing is all over the place in a way it's a good thing cause it means everyone should be able to find something to fit them. If it was the same everywhere then i think there would be some very unhappy ladies
Although it is frustrating when you really want something  Or you have to go up 2 sizes to make something fit:mad:

Sorry if this sounds stupid...but have you tried looking for petite ranges in shops seeing as your on the samller end of the scale?
Primark def' is the worst offender when it comes to sizes but i've grown to accept seeing as its made so cheaply....
I heard that Topshop are supposedly meant to swappign they're sizes about so that you can "drop a dress size" so to speak to make girls feel better about themselves...personally i can only see it being more confusing.......

But that's the thing - it's not just about sizing any more. It's not a case of going up or down a size any more, it's about the shape. Even if you try on all the sizes, none of them fit and that's the problem!
I can no longer think of a single shop where I can go and know that something will look good on me. It's getting harder and harder.
