Shoes for an interview

Shoes for an interview
Help me out, someone. I've got a job interview on Thursday, and I've got a lovely cream/beige trouser suit from next and a black & pink print silk top to go under it. But what to wear on my feet?
Can you wear heeled sandals/wedges to an interview? The weather is supposed to be pretty hot, and it's a London job so I'll have to brave the tube, so I don't really want to wear my fail-safe black boots, but I have nothing else, and all shoes in the shops at the moment are open toed...

have you got any pics of the shoes you have in mind, or similar?

I personally wouldn't wear sandals for an interview, especially if you are wearing a suit. Some employees ( banks usually!) don't allow sandals / open toe shoes. So better to be safe. You could take a pair in your bag to wear there and change before you go in if it is going to be really warm. :)

That's really helpful, thanks. Everywhere I've worked has always been smart casual, and it's years since I last had an interview so I haven't the foggiest on proper dress code.
I guess I'm heading shopping tomorrow!

Answers:

go for some smart court style shoes - a bit more open than boots but still cool enough for hot weather.
