Trouser lengths
Trouser lengths
Hello:wave:
I've been having a bit of a wardrobe sort out lately and realised that I don't think I have one pair of trousers that are the right length:o. They all seem to be either so long I'm standing on them or too short and flapping about my ankles. I'm about to take a couple of pairs of jeans to be taken up and perhaps another pair of trousers to be turned into crops but I'm still undecided on the actual length I want! I really want the jeans to be nice and long but I can't stand the 'damp ankles' look the ground skimming ones end up having (not to mention the horrible wearing away at the back - yuck)
What would you say was the ideal length for different styles of trousers? Can cropped trousers make skinny legs look a bit more shapely?

I prefer my trousers almost touching the ground but you do have to bear in mind what shoes you will be wearing with them. A slight difference in heel height can make them too long or too short.

Being only 4ft 11 I have real problems buying trousers. They are always too long!
Even when I have bought from Petite ranges I have trouble because they always seem to think because you’re short that means you are skinny too and I’m a size 16, it’s so infuriating!
I have had a couple of pairs of trousers taken up at my local dressmakers I had a pair that were a bit tatty around the bottoms taken up and made into a ¾ length pair which worked really well.
I have a shot body but quite long legs and I have found the best length for me seems to me 29” as they seem to fit really well.

I've no idea about cropped trousers and skinny legs as its not a problem I've got!
Could you work out what shoes you are most likely to wear each pair of trousers with and have them changed to that length. Otherwise I would go with midway length & avoid wearing them with flats on wet days & enjoy showing off your shoes with higher heels.
