White clothing dilemmas!

White clothing dilemmas!
Hiya fashion peeps, this is my first post on this forum. :D
At this time of year I usually starting wearing a bit of white, skirts usually, and I'm always a bit fidgety when it comes to finding the right sandals / shoes to go with it. Normally I don't match my footwear to my clothing, spending the winter in black or dark coloured boots / trousers of one style or another, and (even I) know black boots or dark shoes with white skirts are an obvious no-no!
Thing is, I'm never quite confident on the right colour of footwear to go with white skirts - I've got a cute little A-line, knee length broderie anglaise skirt, which would be ok with kitten heels or flats, but can't quite bring myself to buy completely white shoes or sandals (being a sad old ex-goth - more ex-goth than goth these days!)
Is it just me who's a complete dimwit when it comes to white clothing?! - What would you suggest is ok?

Answers:

If you are not very confident about colours then metallics will probably be the safest bet for you. Silver/gold/bronze depending on the rest of your outfit/accessories.

Answers:

I think brown wedges look nice with white, or what about tan or gold.
O/T but love your avatar, it's an evil Pucci!

Answers:

I agree with GATC - brown wedges look the nicest with white skirts - not such a contrast as black

Answers:

Aha, yes, think i could 'do' metallics. :D Thanks LoonyPumpkin! Don't know why I didn't think of metallics - am hopeless at planning when I go clothes shopping, v good at deciding what i don't like and impulse buying though...
Didn't get wedges last year but Husband likes them too so will def get some this year.
Thanks, Girl And The City, can't remember where I got my little evil Pucci, but once I saw it, couldn't imagine having anything else! ;)
