o/t: Scouse baggers - help needed
I know it's early, but for Xmas presents, my Mum wants to put together a Liverpool calender for our rellies in Australia and New Zealand.
So, I need suggestions of Liverpool landmarks - one per month. So far we've got
*Liverpool football club (they're all reds fans - no Evertonians anywhere in our family :yay: )
*Albert Dock
*The Waterfront
*The Beatles statue
*Lambanana
Then we've come up with the Town Hall, Anglican Cathedral, Paddy's Wigwam, but I'm sure there better options than these last three... The last pic will be a family one.
Any other suggestions? Am I missing something major? It's so hard to think of landmarks that you see on a near enough daily basis....
Answers:
The road with the museum and library on they're nice buildings.
Pier head.
Maybe separate pics of the Liver Building, Cunard building if you need to fill up the months.
Maybe one of the waterfront at day, one at night, it looks lovely at night.
Lewis's? Pretty famous
The Anglican cathedral is a great building.
There is another sort of sculpture, of suit cases.
Hmm.. The University maybe the red brick one with the clock tower? Was where the term red brick university came from (and where my lectures are for engineering)
Ooh, The ferry!
Anything on the Wirral? Birkenhead Park? Fisrt park in the world.
Hmm I think thats all I can come up with off the top of my head.
Answers:
i can't really think off the top of my head but here's a good pic (sorry its not best quality, took it on my phone)
Answers:
Or what about Anthony Gormleys Another Place.
Its definitely different and I know its not particularly a landmark as such and its not here for ever but you could take a picture looking back to the docks which are certainly a landmark.
And any scouse baggers who haven't been down to Crosby beach to see them you need to go, its fab.
A nice skyline picture where you could see the cathedrals and the tower. I live out in Rainhill and we get some cracking views from up here but obviously way too far out to photograph. The welsh hills from far away.....and maybe Runcorn Bridge.
Answers:
The Pyramid in St Andrews Church on Rodney Street because of the cool story that goes with it!
The wire horse at the bottom of Bold Street?
If the suitcase sculptures are back on Hopestreet then those.
