Problems (fashion ones!)

Problems (fashion ones!)
Ok, so today was the first really hot day of the year (where I am anyway!) and firstly I discovered I was absolutely boiling in my outfit and that I have no summer clothes whatsoever! Also, Ive put on a bit of weight (ok, quite a lot!) in the last few months :o :( and although Im starting weight watchers this week it isnt realistically going to be gone for a while, so at the mo Im very concious of my weight and especially showing my arms, which are AWFUL and Ive always been paranoid about!
Because of this Im always useless at putting together summer outfits because I dont like showing my arms or much flesh at all- and then I get sooo hot!
So
1) I need some new clothes, any suggestions as to key items?
2) Im hoping to loose at least a stone and I cant afford to buy clothes I wont use again so should I just sit it out?
2) What can I wear in the meantime that might keep me cool enough yet not make me look like a frump?
Thankyou so much girlies
:)

Somewhere like Primark will probably be a good bet, for some cheap, versatile basics to tide you over until you're happier with your weight.
How about some cotton skirts in neutral colours or pretty patterns, a denim skirt, some vests in various colours to mix and match, and some little cardies to cover up your arms?
And I reckon you should get yourself some funky and colourful accessories and/or lovely shoes/bag, because it's these things that really lift an outfit, and it doesn't matter that you're losing weight. And if you're anything like the rest of us, it'll cheer you up no end :D
ETA: Shirt dresses are fab, too. Very versatile and great for chucking on when it's hot and coordinating and outfit is just too much effort!

I agree with Casablancas, some cotton skirts, vest tops & cute cardis will look great & if you get them from somewhere like Primark or New Look you won't have to spend a fortune. :)
You say that you're self-conscience of your arms so why not get a couple of nice tops that have loose fitting sleeves like this one, top right hand corner. I have a top similar to this but in a plum colour & it's great because it's loose around the arm area so it keeps you very cool & it will cover a little bit of your arms so you won't feel self-conscience about them.
Accessories will help detract from any problem areas so why not treat yourself to a few key items for the summer. Maybe some chunky beads, a great bag & some fab new shoes?! :D
Anyway, I'm sure you'll look great whatever you wear even if you have put on a bit of weight so try not to worry about it too much. :higgies:

What about buying some clothes with drawstring waists and wrap-around dresses/ tops? You can buy them the right fit now, and once you loose some weight you can pull them a bit tighter around the waist.
I have just bought a very nice linen look A-line skirt and some straight legged linen look pants with a drawstring at the waist. They were bought at a Primark type of shop for about 7 pound each. If you combine those things with tops with short sleeves or some cardi's, you can feel and look cool without breaking your budget.
These things will also emphasize your curves without looking frumpy. And I agree with the others, if you funk it up with some nice accessoiries and shoes you will look fab!!

It shouldn't be too difficult as there are lots of kimono style tops in the shops at the moment which are ideal if you don't like your arms but will still keep you cool.
I would also suggestion some wide-legged linen trousers - Primark has them in various colours for about £10.
Buy yourself some nice summer shoes as well to cheer yourself up - these won't be affected by any weight lose.
And of course, a great pair of sunglasses!
