How to keep water out of ears after Tubes
Hello!
As you might recall for those who have read my previous post - our daughter got tubes put in her ears (she is 19 months). However - my newest situation is while taking a bath we have been advised to keep bath water out of her ears. We tried using those "wax" ear plugs - however I think they freak her out. For those of you who's children have had tubes previous to now, what have you used or how have you kept the water out of their ears? Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.....
Thanks and stay warm...

Hi Sue! My oldest son had tubes put in several years ago, and we could not find any ear plugs to fit. We used silly putty. It molded perfectly to his little ears and it was easy to get out. Good luck!

Hi Sue, we found these little orange ear plugs on the web at a drugstore dot com. They were the only ones that he would let us put in his ears! The other ones didn't really seem to fit right either. Other than that, my only suggestion would be to lean her head way back when rinsing her hair in the tub. The summers weren't too bad for us because my son didn't (and still doesn't ) like to put his head under water. Try not to get water in her ears obviously, but don't stress too much if you do. I'm sure that we got water in my sons ears occasionally and he was fine.

My daughters ENT said to take cotton balls and place in the ear and put a dab of Petro Jelly on the cotton ball. It holds the water from getting into the cotton ball. It does work and the jelly wipes off easy and also makes them nice and soft!

My son had 4 sets of tubes and the best ear plugs we had were the ones that we had made at the ENT's office. They were custom made for his ears and they made a tight seal. The cotton balls with vaseline always got wet and didn't work very well.
