Children and Diet Drinks....
My son is a little bit over weight in the Dr's eyes...I have just found out that my son likes Diet Coke, so thought it might be a good way for him to slim down just a little...Then a Lady tells me that she heard that Diet drinks will make little boy's sterile.
Has anyone ever heard this before??? I have never heard this before now....

I have never heard that one before! If my kids drink soda, it is always diet b/c regular has way too much sugar. Their pediatrician did tell me that those artificial sweeteners aren't good for them, but that is all. I still let them drink it. Another suggestion for your son that I use is Crystal Light...it's like Kool Aid but made with nutrasweet or splenda. Ask your doc just to be sure about the sterility thing but I think that is a definite untruth.

Those fake sugars are not good for anyone. I have heard they cause all types of problems. How old is your son? My DS is not allowed to have soda. Orange juice mixed with water, milk and water is all he gets. Soda is evil IMO everyone is addicted to it. I will try and keep it away from my son as long as possible. Regular soda is fattning (sp?) and the diet is just plain not good for you. Don't get me wrong - I am a Coke Zero addict. I know first hand how bad soda is. I could not go a day without a soda. I try and limit myself to one a day but it does not always work.
When I was a kid soda was only for special occasions. It rots teeth also. Just a terrible drink.

My son will soon be six, He mostly drinks white grape juice and Kool-Aide. But we do let him have sprite when dining out at a resterant. We received a Coke Zero thru Dominos to try (it was free) hubby and I both tried it and both made the most horrible face our son said let me try it....He ended up drinking the whole 12oz? drink (over several day period), He really like it to our suprise.
