6yr old dd complaining vaginal pain

My daughter has been complaining of pain in her vaginal area for three days. Yesterday the complaining intensified and she told me it didn't hurt if she "pulled it". I had her point to exactly where it hurts and it turns out it's her clitoris. It did seem swollen somewhat but didn't look irritated and I noticed no discharge indicating a yeast infection. It doesn't seem to bother her to pee so I'm not thinking a bladder infection...anyone have any thoughts or think she should be seen or should I give it a while longer assuming she didn't wipe well enough after the last bowel movement and it's the cause of her uncomfortableness down under...

I would call her pediatrician. I don' think it's normal for a 6 yr old to complain about that.
Better to be safe than sorry. I hope it turns out to be nothing though.

Has she been bathing herself? Maybe she has been using soap down here and the soap is causing an irritation. Or it could be bubble bath too. Hopefully you will be able to determine what is bothering her.

My neice had pain like that. She had labia adhesions. It is where the labias are still connected, making a little pocket where urine and feces can collect, making it very painful.

She was put on a estrogen cream for 2 weeks and it is all better.

Call you ped,

Probably have it checked out by the Dr. It can also simply be sore from too much touching. Many children begin to explore their genitals around that age and when it feels pleasurable, they continue, to the point of making it sore.

They of course don't understand the sexual connotation, but it feels good to them, and it's completely natural. At our house, when the kids begin to do that, we just explain that it should be private and they can do that in their room with the door closed. You may not have noticed her touching.
