Any Ideas for 1 Yr. Old's Diet?

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask this but can anyone give me any suggestions on what I can feed my 1 year old son, somewhat nutritious? He likes oatmeal, yogurt, diced fruit, home-made carrot soup and macaronie & cheese. I want more of a variety in his diet. Anyone got any ideas?

i have a 12 month old, and it is hard. He wants to feed himself. i let him try just about everything that is safe. He loves anything with bread and cheese on it. he likes bite sized veg. sometimes, peas, carrotts, green beans. one of his favorite things right now are the little gerber pasta pickups. i know they say they are for toddlers, but they are great and have things in them that sometimes they won't eat alone, like spinach. they are little ravoli, that i cut into about 3 or 4 pieces and he can pick them up. they have like 4 or 5 different ones. cheese, spinach and cheese, chicken and carrot and a few more. they are in a chicken broth, so they are not too messy. and he also just started eating chicken nuggets from wendys. they are soft and i break them into little pieces, and he loves them. not to healthy but he also likes fish sticks, because they are soft, and mini pancakes and the flavored walfuls.

I saw those Gerber products in the store too, I'm thinking about picking some of it up for him. Chicken sounds good also, we had stew the other day and he loved to pick out the chicken and potatoes but he didn't care for the green beans much, of course I guess at that age he wouldn't. I'll look into some of those suggestions, thanks!!

My DD would pretty much eat anything at that age. We introduced her to food ( baby food)at 4 months due to acid reflux. As she got older she seemed more intrested in what we where eating. I started giving her those fruit and veggie puffs pretty early too. Which some will not agree with, but its made her understand to chew her food. So I have never had any problems with her chocking on things. She didn't get her first tooth until 15 months, but would eat anything. Grapes, hashbrowns, nuggest, fish sticks, frozen veggies. You name it she ate it. I did cut it into small pieces. One of her favorite things was chicken and rice soup and i would mix it with instant mash potatoes to make it thicker (not so runny). She loved it. Just pour some of the instant potatoes into the soup and heat. I would just let her feed herself as much as possible. Only usually when we are at home. It helps them develop skills like mastering how to eat alone and with silverware.
