3 year old with yeast infection?

I am not sure but my baby girl that has just turned 3 has come up with a rash. She is recently potty trained but she is not totally especially when it comes to the number 2 thing! She is a "big" girl now and she will not lay down for me to wipe her and if I can not get everything in a few wipes with her standing up she puts up a fight and you have to hold her down to finish cleaning her up. She will not allow me to put diaper cream on her either but doesnt give the daycare provider any trouble. I sent some today and they applied it 3 times. The provider informed me that she believes that it may be a yeast infection because my daughter is itching it and it is very red and irritated. She says it has an odor too. I am not sure how easy it is for a 3 year old to get yeast infections. Can anyone help me or have any tips? Please write me soon!

My son had many yeast infections when he was young. The doctor always prescribed Nystatin for him.

My daughter got them all the time when she was little. We eventually found out she was allergic to her bubble bath and now she's fine.

I know this sounds crazy, but put just a tiny bit of bleach in the bath water for the next few days. It will take care of it without having to mess with the cream and it is harmless, kind of like taking her into a chlorinated pool. Actually if it is warm enough where you are now and you have access, a pool would be a great idea too. It really does clear anything of a fungal nature up very quickly.

My two year old son just got over a yeast infection. Go to your doctor and he can prescribe something to clear it up. Also, you might just try plain old baby powder. I know it can be a little messy but it helped us a lot when our son wouldn't let us put cream on him. Good luck.
