Rash?
My 3 year old daughter has had a rash on her stomach since the 27th of August. I took her to the doctors and he said it was just the end of a viral infection. But it still hasn't gotten much better. I swiched laundry detergents. Gotten new clothes and it is still there. My doctor doesn't think that there is a problem. It isn't red or itchy, it just looks like little pimples all over her stomach. Has anyon ever had this before? Should I seek a second opinion? Demand that my own doctor do tests? I am just lost. Thanks for any help or advice. SL

It could be petechiae. My son had gotten that after he received his shots. He now has ITP. It doesnt bother him or anything its just the blood vessels under his skin bleeding out. They told me the same thing when he first had it. That it was just from a virus. It took me 5 months later for someone to figure it out. If you put petechiae in a search engine you should be able to find a pic to help you compare. Hope this helps.

Since you said it looks like pimples it sounds like it could be molluscum contagiosum, a common skin virus among children, that can last for a long time and is very contagious, but not harmful. I never heard of this until I was diagnosed with it. Make sure to see a dermatologist to get a second opinion on your primary physician. The sooner you know what it is the sooner you can isolate the bumps, IF it is this, they can potentially spread quickly, and to other people. If you have other children, I wouldn't share towels or wash cloths, or take baths together. I don't mean to scare you I just want to help you catch it sooner than later if it is that. Best of luck!
