Life without Yasmin...

... has been 50/50. It's been less than 2 weeks and I can already feel changes.

Saving the money has been great! haha.. not what's important though, really.

Thankfully I haven't had a massive acne breakout or weight gain like I feared. It's still early though.. haven't seen yet what will happen on my first period without the pill!

I have noticed a general bloated feeling, a constant headache, and my crappy moodiness again.. borderline depressed again.. and I'm not even pmsing yet.

Just crappy over all. I'm really hoping that the consistency of this is only temporary. I can deal with being bloated. but these headaches and really effecting me, I can't concentrate.. and I really don't want to load up on pain killers. And the moodiness.. ugh.. I hate being anti-social. I feel like I walk around at work as if noone around me exsist. I don't like that at all.. but at the same time I don't care. Its hard to explain.. I'm fighting with myself! Tht could be the Gemini in me.. haha

I felt great emotionally on Yasmin, at first. Then my old mentality starting up again, so it seemed pointless to continue using it. I don't know... I'll see what happens in the weeks to come.

This was more of a vent.. but anyone is welcome to offer any advice, input, words on encouragement.. anyway!

Thanks for listenting!

well the reason you are feeling that way is most likely because now your body has to adjust without the hormones and thats gonna take time to get use to just like you had to get use to taking hormones and being on them. :-/ you can never win.

but i just wanted to say, i currently am no longer on insurance! and each month now i pay 43.99 for my yasmin prescription but i only have 5 months left and thats it. and im afraid since i have no more insurance that a visit to the gyno again to a get a brand new year of yasmin will cost way to much causing me to get off of BC. But im so afraid to do that because ive been on it for a bout 2 years now and my acne has incredibly improved, my weight has stayed okay, and i have totally painful cramps without the BC and it's just much easier being on BC than worrying about condoms breaking. so...i don't wanna lose these privileges. and i sure don't wanna feel depressed or just feel crappy in general..because i have a bad stomach it never feels good. basically im just saying/asking how does it feel to be off of BC? im just so worried to get off of it.

I haven't any insurance and for LoEstrin FE 24 it was $61.99 this month from Walgreens. My yearly paps are $120. The bill from the labiis separate and this year was $240 only cause they had to run many tests cause I had an abnormal pap. Normally it would only be $95.

I pay in full at the time of my visit so I get a 20% discount. Now when I had insurance I swear I remember that the bill to the insurance company was double that. And they say that doctors don't abuse the companies. Can't prove it but I sure believe it. My coloposcopy was $240.

Give your body time to rid the hormones I think you will feel better then. Did you have headaches before you went on BCP?

I went off Depo about ten moths ago, and was having awful headaches... almost to the point of calling 911. The dr ran a MRI/MRA to rule out brain anueresyms SP? and it came back normal, he told me it was most likely caused from the hormone levels not being the same all the time, I still get them, but they are much more manageable and seem to be going away more every month. Perhaps your body is adapting to the hormone changes? I find a heating pad on my upper back and neck extremely soothing when I get these headaches... try that if you can. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the replies.. I appreciate it.

I did post on here a week or so ago, a couple days after stopping the pill, about headahces, and someone said it was because of estrogen.. I think she said it was because of the lessened dose.. I'll have to go back and re-read it to be sure.

I've always batteled with a variety of headaches. I can usually tell if it's a head caused my stress, hunger or something I ate (I'm gluten intolerant/Celiac.. and sometimes I eat things I shouldnt :/ ). But these headaches are just, scary really. Painful, stabbing feeling in my right temple. It seems to be common from what I've heard and read.. headaches just after starting the pill and ending seem like a common side effect.

I guess all I really can do is wait it out... or go back on the pill.

I have insurance and my script was always $49.59 (or some odd change amount.) It seemed expensive, but well worth it b/c Yasmin really did help with my moods and menstral related depression. I felt like an entirely new person. Once my body adjusted to the hormones, I guess I just got used to it, so those old pms symptoms returned. So spending the money no longer seemed worth it.

Hopefully these headaches ease up soon. Actually, today has been almost headache free! So I hope this is the start of the end of that!!

Thanks again for the replies! Take care.
