refrigerating the Pill
I have some birth control pills that will expire before i get a chance to use them all. I know that most medications are good after that date, since the date is a conservative one. But my friend told me that some meds will last longer if i put them in the fridge. Is it safe to put the pills in the fridge or will it damage them? the box says keep them at room temp. Also, how long after the due date are birth control pills good for? I don't want to get pregnant.

You should never refrigerate meds that are labeled to store at room temperature. My sister works for a pharmaceutical company and she told me that if you refrigerated your BCPs, it would make them less effective.
It's best that you use them by the expiration date. If you can't use them before they expire, you should throw them away. Expiration dates are important for medications because they lose effectiveness after expiring. With something like a birth control pill, it's not adviseable to allow expiration unless you don't care if you get pregnant or not.

I agree with the Kszan, 100%!!!
#1, The date is there for a reason!
#2, It wouldn't say "store at room temperature" for the hell of it.
I wouldn't mess around with birth control pills, they're very specific!
