Newbie question about birth control!
Hi everyone, i hope someone can answer this question, it's a little silly. I'm new to taking birth control. I've been on Ortho tri cyclen Lo for about 8 months. My boyfriend and i have sex about 4-5 times a week, my periods usually start on the last 2 days of the light blue pill and then it ends early on the green pill, about 2-3 days early. If i have unprotected sex on those last 3 days of the green pill do you think i could become pregnant?? My boyfriend usually pulls out but this last month he hasn't been, i can't remember for sure if we had unprotected sex or not on those days last month (I don't think we did), but for the future i'd like to know.
Also, I'm have a little uneasy feeling right now becuase I'm on the last day of my light blue pill and i haven't gotten my period yet, i'm sure it'll start soon, i've never missed a dose and take them at the same time everyday except for the weekend were i'm about an hour or 2 later. I don't think i could be pregnant just because my boyfriend hasn't been pulling out this month?? I'd just like some reassurance.
Thanks for all your help!

the birth control pill is designed so that whenever you have sex you should not get pregnant because the pills stops you from ovulating therefore there is no egg to empregnate, even if you are on the placebo pills. However, birth control is not a 100% guarentee and every woman is different, so there is always that chance that you may become pregnant while on birth control. I would not worry about it though, I've been on birth control for a while and have had unprotected sex on the placebo pills where he didn't pill out and nothing has happened to me, if that helps. Usually people tend to start their period on the 2nd or 3rd day of their placebo pills, this may be what is happening to you, so i wouldnt consider you to be "late" just yet. wait it out if you dont get your period the entire time you are on the placebo pills, take a pregnancy test to be sure. but i think you'll be fine, because you seem to be taking the pills as directed.

I have another question....after you finish the green pills and start the white ones do you need extra protection for a week before you can have unprotected sex or can you start right away?? also if you are on the last light blue pill or the last 2 or 3 can you still have unprotected sex as well??

birth control pills are designed to protect against pregnancy any time during the pack. So you should be all set whenever you have unprotected sex.
