Cramps still on BC?

I'm just finishing my first month on BC. I'm taking Aviane by the way.
I started on them because I was having severe cramps which made me very sick and I couldn't function normally. I just started my period today and I still have cramps. They are not nearly as bad but it still hurts pretty bad, is this normal for the first period on BC? Will the cramps go away once my body gets used to them?

Thanks

For the record, I was on the pill a very, very long time. Close to 15 years. I originally went on for helping with my cramps. Guess what? Not one of the tons of different brands that I ever tried (which was pretty much most of them) EVER took away my cramps. They were perhaps slightly less painful, but STILL Painful enough where I had to take a prescription strength naproxen or ibuprofen every single month when I got my pill period.

I don't believe that the pill takes away cramps. I have never believed that, I think it's a lie and I think it's wrong of doctors to promise that to these poor women who get tricked into taking the pill in hopes their cramps will disappear. Well I'm proof that it just doesn't happen.

So, I'm sorry, I wish I had better news, but no. You most likely will continue to get cramps while on the pill, but they will probably be slightly less painful than they were before you started the pill.

Aw that makes me sad. My mom (who took the pill for like 20 years) was waiting to hear how it was cause I guess she didn't get cramps on the pill anymore. At least I don't get sick anymore and I can still function which was the point I guess.

I had less painful cramps on the pill, but I still had them.

Same here. Took the pill for 20 years and had moderate to severe cramps. I went off nine months ago and thought my cramps would be awful, and they're practically non-existant ... certainly not nearly as bad as what I had on the pill.
