Question about IUDs?
Ok, well I've had the mirena about one year and I've had some problems with it so I'm getting it removed next week. I just want to know if anyone has another type of IUD and if you are happy with it? Is it as painful as the mirena was getting it inserted? I had cramps and bled with the mirena for about the first few months I had in inserted! Also is there any side effects of other IUD's? I heard one other IUD is paragaurd? Anyone have this and is ok with it? Just let me know if anyone can tell me about your experiences with other IUD's?? Thanks so much..

I have the parguard IUD and love it. I only had some cramping when i had it put in and that lasted a few days. The only side effect with Parguard is that your period could be heavier and longer and you could have more cramping. But, usually that will place after a few months of having it in. It's a great choice for anyone that doesn't want to be on hormonal birth control. Good luck.

Jenn1v- thanks so much for your input.. So how long have you had paragard? So do you bleed at long periods of time all the time or just for a few months after you get it inserted? Because with this mirena, they told me to expect maybe 3 day periods and less cramping, granted the cramping is better but my periods last sometimes 2 weeks, then it goes away for a couple of days then I bleed again and I've had this in for a year, so I feel like I at least gave it a try without giving up so early! I'm just tired all the time, moody, feel bloated, breast sore, I mean come on, I have 3 little kids and I've been through pregnancy 3 times and I don't want to feel like I'm pregnant all the time! LOL So I was thinking about the paragard.. Again thanks so much for your time.. Fullhouse

Tinytoes, I'm getting really nervous.. My sister-n-law got hers taken out not too long ago and said it was painful! My uterus is tilted backwards, so he has to pull it forward (very uncomfortable) but I've had 3 kids, I think I can handle it for a few minutes anyways.. Just nervous about pain or bleeding afterwards.. Did you have pain or bleed afterwards? I know you said you felt really bloated but were you in a lot of pain? I can only take so much pain.. So how are you feeling without it inserted in you? Have you lost any weight yet? Are you still bleeding and bloated? I want to know everything.. I'm beginning to second guess this all together? Help!!!!! Fullhouse..
