Quest. about Yaz and PPMD?
Hi,
I recently tried Yaz to help with PPMD, but after day 4, I can't tolerate the breast enlargement (36D to start!) bloating and tiredness, so I'm stopping.
My question is: if Yaz is supposed to "even out" the estrogen after ovulation when it drops causing PPMD, why not just take it then? Why all month? I'm not interested in it's birth control properties.
In other words, can a person take a low dose b/c only during the worst of the PPMD days, instead of the whole month?
Just curious.

No, I don't think so. That will mess up your cycle. The "period" you have on the pill is not a real period at all (not a period caused by ovulating). Instead, it is a withdrawal bleed caused by taking the hormones away from your body during the placebo pills. That is how women can skip months of periods on the pill. So, if you're taking the pill every 2 weeks only, that will really mess up your cycle. It will start messing with when you ovulate, likely to start pushing it back after awhile or causing no ovulation, plus it sounds like a prescription for a lot of uncontrollable breakthrough bleeding. Sorry, it just won't work.

Hi,
Thank you for your response. It's very helpful. I won't try that.

Ask your doctor for a different pill. or you ask your doctor for a prescription of Sarafem which is something you take only two weeks before your period (PMS)
