Not happy with the BCP I'm on.
I started out on Estrostep Fe but went off of it b/c the three steps of pills made me very nauseous and worsened my migraines. I switched to Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 but went off of that b/c after 10 months I had never gotten a period. I then went to Levora .15/30 but went off b/c I STILL had not had a period for another 3 months. My gyn switched me to Kariva which I just started today, but I have heard lots of bad things about it (weight gain, loooong periods, etc) Alllll of the pills I have been on have absolutley KILLED my sex drive, which I cannot stand. I'm about ready to just say "enough" with BCP's alltogether.
Has anyone taken a BCP that they really liked? One that wouldn't kill my sex drive and make me gain 20 lbs???
I have to be careful with the pills though b/c I have severe migraines... However, if I found a BCP I liked, I could take the pills constantly for 3 months or so, and only go off of the pills a few times a year to have my period... has anyone ever tried that? I've heard of people doing it, but I'm worried about how that could alter the effectiveness of the pills. hmmmm....

I loved yasmin, until i switched to seasonale, which has screwed me over royally.

I had really good luck with Kariva (I took it for 2 years), but in Oct., I will be 40, so my doctor does not want me taking estrogen anymore. Since I have heavy periods and mild endometriosis, my doctor wants me to stay on hormones, but only the "minipill". I take Ortho Micronor and although I had heard some bad stories about it, they work fine for me! No weight gain, my sex drive is awesome , and my periods are lighter!

I didn't have good luck with any of them. All of them were bad so I quit BCP and have gone condom-only. It's been working out really well for me.
But if you want to know the results of my various searches on the topic, I have found that the pills with the most complaints on all of the women's health boards I've visited have been the following: Seasonale, OTC, OTClo, Loestrin24fe, Yasmin and Yaz. Those are the ones with the most number of complaints on all of the boards that I post on. So you might want to stay away from those (and their generic equivalents if one exists).
