What to expect from pediatric dietition?

We went to pediatric dietition 'cause my parents think that dd doesn't eat well, although pediatr doesn't see a problem. I was quite disappointed. She gave couple advices and breakfast menu sample. Other than that no calorie counting or menu samples. She wants us to come after one week with report and I postponed it.
May be I don't know what she should really do.

DS goes to a dietician a couple times a year because he has cystic fibrosis.

About a week before we go, we fill out a form indicating what medications he's on, vitamins if any, does he have any feeding problems -- will he eat all foods or does he dislike certain things like texture... Then we're asked how much water (or juice, etc) he drinks each day and then we pick a typical day and indicate what he eats and drinks for each meal, snacks, etc. -- Breakfast he has 4-8 ounces of carnation instant breakfast, lunch a cup of spagettios, cup of yogurt, 1/2 cup of carrots, 6 ounces whole milk....

Then when we arrive for the appointment, she measures him -- height, weight -- uses the pinchers to determine body fat on his arms and shoulder blades... By then she's had someone in her office calculate how many calories he's getting a day and they figure out if he's tracking okay height and weightwise, if he's missing out on something nutritionallly.... And she offers suggestions on how to sneak in extra calories -- dips for veggies, a dash of olive oil mixed into casseroles, encourage new foods....

So maybe your dietician is having you come back so she can see how much your child is eating, where she's tracking compared to other children her age....

why do your parents think she doesn't eat well? Is she too thin? overweight?

Years ago my cousin took her son in because she felt he wasn't eating normally. He was just a picky eater who only liked certain things. He was eating a well balanced diet according to the doctor and dietician and was tracking well in terms of growth. He ate plenty of protein (peanut butter & cheese), dairy, fruits and veggies -- he just didn't really like the meat and potato meals she was fixing the rest of the family.
